Festival season kicked off this month with the well-known Primavera Sound Festival, which celebrated its 19th edition with an audience from more than 120 different countries. But don’t worry, the world doesn’t end after Primavera, and here we will give you an overview of some of the major music festivals that will take place in Barcelona this summer.

Festival Jardins de Pedralbes

This festival starts on June 5th and will continue until the 15th of July. It is an outdoor summer concert series in the Gardens of the Pedralbes Palace, a magnificent place to listen to music, in contact with nature and history!

This year, the festival will host an interesting range of national and international artists:

French artist Carla Bruni, the immeasurable Mariah Carey and the singer Corinne Bailey Rae. From the national scene, it is worth mentioning Diego el Cigala, Izal or Ana Belén. We also want to highlight the presence of Laura Pergolizzi (LP) that will be promoting her latest album.

The International Festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia Art (known as Sónar) has an impressive reputation as one of the world’s leading experimental electronic music festivals. It is a must for anyone into electronic music, media technologies and contemporary urban art.

The event will take place on the 18^th, 19^th and 20^th July, and it has already been proven as a leading reference for international festivals, offering a carefully balanced cultural offer, combining a playful nature, the avant-garde, and experimentation with electronic dance music’s newest trends.

Sónar is constantly on the pulse of the current electronic music landscape. Its interactions and hybridizations with digital creation and new media, unites established artists with emerging talent, in all areas of musical and audiovisual production. During the day the festival comprises concerts, DJs, exhibitions, multimedia art, conferences, showcases as well as the new Sonar+ D area, the essence of which is discovering and tracking new talent and enhance professional activities. The larger shows will take place at Sónar by Night, in Fira Gran Vía de L’Hospitalet, where the leading names in the current international music scene are staged.

Confirmed performers for this edition are Underworld and its impressive audiovisual show, Jlin, DJ Koze, Dixon, Paul Kalkbrenner or Skepta, among others.

Crüilla

It’s been 10 years since Crüilla started as a music festival, but it has grown into the blend of styles and cultures that it is today, an eclectic festival that books pop and rock bands alongside electronica acts, along with a broad spectrum of R&B, and Jamaican and African music.

If you want to spend 4 days of non-stop fun by the sea, don’t miss this event from 3rd to 6th July, and enjoy Barcelona biggest summer party of the year!

Among the artists that you will find this year onstage, there are headliners as Black Eyed Peas, Kylie Minogue or Zaz. Enjoy the show of Foals, Years & Years, Parov Stelar, Michael Kiwanuka, Bastille or Gang Of Youths. In the national scene, you will find artists like Dorian, Xoel Lopez and the well-known Vetusta Morla.

Brunch- in the park

Brunch –In the Park is an event for outdoors, food and electronic lovers that takes place every summer Sunday, from 13:00 to 22:00h.

In each edition, Barcelona vibrates to the rhythm of electronic music. You will also find food and drink stands to satisfy all kinds of tastes offered by the different food trucks while listening to the best Dj’s on the national and international scene.
