Streets of Gracia

A colorful neighborhood

This festival is considered the most colorful and most popular neighborhood festival, which attracts about one and a half million visitors each year. It was also awarded for Traditional Festival of National Interest by the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Creu de Sant Jordi (St George’s Cross).

The concept of the festival is that streets in the neighborhood compete in street decoration.

Each street has to be decorated according to a theme and this can cover anything form a jungle or an underwater scene to a zombie hangout. You are going to be surprised by the creativity and the originality that each street demonstrates.

Moreover, the neighborhood’s streets are not only going to be decorated, they will also be filled with activities for everyone, with competitions, workshops, sports activities, concerts and lots more.

Each year the festival is taking place from 15th to 21st August. The first day of the festival on 15th August is a public holiday in Spain called Assumption day.
