Vermouth in Barcelona – Five Best Places

Barcelona is a city with an incredible amount of tourist attractions. It is full of art and culture that you can see everywhere in its monuments, streets, and markets. To make the most of your visit to the city where you can stay in Aspasios Boutique Apartments, you better don’t miss your precious time and have an idea of what to do in this beautiful city. One of the best things you can do here is going out like a local and maybe having a vermouth in Barcelona, just the way local residents do.

Having a vermouth in the afternoon is a typical custom. In the last years this traditional way of spending time with friends has won new followers. In Barcelona there are many cool bars that offer this drink. So here is our top five to enjoy the vermouth in the city.

Morro Fi

Morro Fi is considered one of the best places among vermouth fans. This is a small bar that started out as a blog of gastronomic recommendations for Barcelona and then opened up its doors. They serve premium appetizers and even serve their own brand of vermouth.

The place is small, with no tables inside. However, there is a sunny terrace where you can enjoy the life of the Eixample neighborhood.

They are located in C/ Consell de Cent, 171.

Senyor Vermut

We are once again in the Eixample neighborhood. Senyor Vermut is less than 4 years old, and yet has already many fans. It has a retro charm and a terrace with plenty of sunshine. The bar’s main attraction is its 40 different varieties of vermouth. Watch out, you might feel like trying more than one!

Senyor Vermut’s customers are very varied, between hipsters and families you can find many different people who feel comfortable here.

It is located in C/ Provença 85, ten minutes from Garden Apartments.

Quimet & Quimet

Now we go over to the classics. Quimet Quimet is one of the oldest places in the city and is located in the neighborhood of Poble Sec.

Not only does this bar serve one of the best vermouth tapas in Barcelona, but it also has its own beers and a wide variety of wines. Another reason to visit this small winery is its wide variety of original tapas. If you don’t know which one to choose, ask the waiter, they will readily advise you.

It is located in C / Poeta Cabanyes 25, ten minutes from Charming Flats.

La Bodegueta de Ca’l Pep

Of course there are also cool vermouth places further away from the touristic part of Barcelona. Just take the neighborhood of Sants, right near to the local fresh-food market, the center of the shopping life in the district.

La Bodegueta de Ca’l Pep is a real classic, which started out in 1929. Even now it still keeps its essence of a traditional wine cellar. The vermouth they serve here is homemade and is usually combined with traditional high-quality fish or pickles tapas, very popular with its customers. If you want to get a table, you better arrive early – the local has quite few of them.

It is located in C/ Canalejas 12, easy to reach with the metro L1.

Bar Calders

Our latest recommendation is in Sant Antoni. It is a traditional bar ideal for a home-made vermouth and tasty tapas. Its name pays tribute to the Catalan writer Pere Calders. If you look inside the bar, you will find some things related to him.

The biggest attraction of the bar is its quiet and colorful terrace, which combines rustic Catalan style with an Andalusian touch. It is located in C/ Parlament 25, three minutes from the metro stop Poble Sec L3.

Oh, and one more thing: if you discover a cool place which you think that deserves a visit during your stay in Barcelona, we would love if you share it with us.
