Celebrate summer with these beach bars in Barcelona

Barcelona is an awesome city all year round, specially during the warmer months, as you can spend time not only sunbathing and swimming at the beach, but also relaxing at the beach bars, which are called “chiringuitos” by the locals. They are the perfect spot to chill out, to have a bite and a refreshing cocktail, while listening to music and enjoying the views.

There’s plenty of chiringuitos along the beaches of Barcelona, so, to help you out, we have prepared a list of our favorite ones.  Don’t miss out!

Bambú Beach Bar

Inspired by the beauty of Southeast Asia, they have adopted, as they say, the magic and strength of the region and have brought it to Llevant Beach.

Bambú offers a great variety of tapas, seafood, burgers and sandwiches, along with some summer drinks, like classic vermouth, sangria or mojito. During the day, they rent parasols and sun loungers, and in the evening the bar becomes a popular dance spot. You can even rent the place for your own party, with your own catering and music.

To sum up, a fresh and relaxed spirit with unbeatable views of the Mediterranean.

Chiringuito Escribà

Av. Litoral 62, Bogatell Beach

Located at Bogatell Beach, this space was initially created by Carles Abellan (one of Barcelona’s foremost chefs) and Joan Escribà (a recognized pastry chef) as homage to the tradition of the chiringuito.

This is the perfect place if you want to try a local paella, as the rice dishes are their specialty. You will find them in several versions, all of them inspired by the local cuisine, which enhances the flavors of its surroundings: the mountain and the sea, blending together traditional Spanish gastronomy with a chiringuito experience. Also, if you come with a pet, no worries, they are pet friendly!

Surf House Barcelona

Surf House is a Californian style restaurant with a cool and laid back atmosphere, which together with its excellent location, has turned it into one of the most popular spots in the neighborhood.

This chiringuito prides itself on offering casual, different and quality food. They already welcome you in the morning with delicious and healthy breakfasts, while amazing cocktails can give you the perfect end to a summer day in the city.

Apart from that, due to their support of the Californian culture, the business also offers you the chance to enjoy a range of different activities on the beach, like paddle surfing, workout classes, and more. Be sure to ask their friendly staff about it.

Chiringuito Vai Moana

Av. del Litoral, Bogatell Beach

Inspired by Easter Island, with young and relaxed vibes, Vai Moana (which means “blue sea” in Polynesian) is one of our must-try chiringuitos at Bogatell’s Beach. This gastronomic beach bar brings a small portion of the paradisiacal Polynesian islands to Barcelona, where the sun, the beach and the food merge with the best chill out style.

Here you will find a more quiet and romantic environment, with a candle-based lighting and a generous cocktail selection: caipirinha, cosmopolitan, Mai Tai and sangria, of course. Vai Moana is also known because it regularly hosts some of the city’s best beach parties with well-known DJs spinning tunes until dawn. Whether it’s sunbathing on their sunbeds or inside the beach bar, visiting Vai Moana is a gastronomic experience, but also a space for tropical and exclusive fun.

Once you’ve visited all the chiringuitos in the city, we suggest discovering the best beaches for a trip outside of Barcelona. And if you are looking for accommodation, at Aspasios you will find fully equipped apartments in the best areas of Barcelona. Book now!
