Park Güell in Barcelona

Parc Guell is one of the most beautiful and important works of Gaudí in Barcelona. This park was ordered by the businessman Eusebi Güell. His idea was to create a design space for the aristocracy of Barcelona. It is much more than a park because Gaudí  wanted to create a garden city.

In the work of Gaudí it has a great influence nature. In his works we can see references to the animal and plant world. The vegetation of the place becomes an element of the park, which abound carob trees, oaks, pines and other trees.

The main park entrance is located at Calle Olot. At the door welcome us a monumental staircase dominated by a salamander. A sculpture made of stone and adorned with colored ceramics. An image that can be found in many places throughout Barcelona and has become an icon for residents and visitors.

Inside the Parc Guell there is a path supported on columns that twist and appear out of the ground as if they were trunks of trees. A natural effect that seems to reflect nature.

At the top there is a terrace from which you can see the entire park and enjoy a nice view of Barcelona. You can relax in one of the original seats decorated with ceramic tiles. The colors are in the entire park and create original plays of light by reflecting light.

This monument of Antoni Gaudí every year attracts thousands of visitors. In 1969 it was declared a Historical and Artistic Monument of National Interest in 1984 and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. An essential experience you can enjoy during your visit to Barcelona.
