Barcelona’s Best Cocktail Bars

As the summer draws to a close, some mourn the end of hot days on the beach and others look forward to roasted chestnuts and cozy indoor bars. As much as we have enjoyed basking in the sun, cold drink in hand, on a terrace, cold weather is always a good excuse to head inside to these cocktail bars! Regardless of your feelings about the changing of seasons, you can enjoy Barcelona’s best cocktails (and more!) at one of these spots.

The Classic:

Boada´s Cocktails This practically hidden bar is like a wormhole back into a classic time and place – a 1920s Cuban cocktail bar, each bartender in a tux and a repertoire of fancy mixing moves that are sure to delight. There’s no menu with the exception of one or two daily items, but the staff here are experts on if not artists of, the traditional canon of cocktails.

Bohemian Paradise:

The warmly welcoming staff of Hemingway bar will prepare the best cocktails based on your own taste (it doesn’t even have to come from the menu!).  Bartenders also take their time to explain to the guests the ingredients and combinations they mix to surprise you with new notes to enjoy. Sit back and enjoy the mellow ambiance with one of these excellent creations in hand.

Bar with a View:

Mirablau See the entire Barcelona skyline and more at Mirablau, located right across from the Tibidabo mountain cable car. The panoramic view and chill music (DJs are on from 11PM to 6AM) pair well with a Spanish obsession. A gin and tonic, known here as gin-tonic and available with well over a dozen different gins.

Other favorites of ours include Gimlet, Milano, Terraza Bar 8, and El Xampanyet.
