Sant Jordi Barcelona 2015

Sant Jordi Barcelona 2015. The 23rd of April has become an important day for Catalonia, full of tradition and customs of different times.

The legend goes that a long time ago in the Montblanc town (Tarragona), there was a terrible and fierce dragon that destroyed and ate all that surrounded him. All the members of the village were terrified by him. That disgraceful situation led them, along with the King, to offer the dragon some animals and inhabitants, chosen by chance, who will sacrifice their lives in order to keep him calm. This choice seemed quite good until the king’s daughter was chosen to be the next victim. One day, while the princess went to the tower where the dragon was waiting for her, a young knight with his white horse came to fight with the evil dragon. He finally won the battle and he saved the princess. A gorgeous rosebush grew from the dragon’s blood.
