New Years Eve in Barcelona

In Spain (and in many other Spanish speaking countries), there is a classic New Year’s Eve tradition of eating 12 grapes at the 12 strokes of the clock at midnight, all at once. In Barcelona, this is practiced, but there is also the wonderful New Year´s tradition of living up to its reputation as a party destination!

For New Years Eve in Barcelona, parties are everywhere – in someone´s home, in a club, on the beach, or up in the mountains, setting the scene for each and every partygoer’s preference.  Find a spot that fits your style!

Clubs Razzmatazz (+34 933 20 82 00 Carrer Almogàvers, 122 in Poble Nou) and Sala Bikini (+34 933 22 08 00 Avinguda Diagonal, 547 in Eixample) are two of Barcelona´s more alternative locations where parties will be raging until the sun comes up. Sutton (+34 934 14 42 17 Calle Tuset, 13, 08006 in Eixample) and Opium Mar (+34 932 25 91 00 Passeig Marítim de la Barceloneta, 34 in Marina) are some of the city´s most iconic, more upscale clubs where you can dance the whole night. At Opium Mar (and at its neighbouring clubs) you can even step out to feel the ocean breeze at its beachside location.

To help everyone get home safely, the Barcelona metro stays open 24 hours on New Year´s Eve. At Aspasios´ luxury apartments, we have great offers available for the best holidays in Barcelona year round, with New Year’s being no exception! Our trendy and welcoming flats are the perfect spot for each and any traveler to this wonderful city.

We love this special night every year and though we are sad to see 2012 come to a close, we are sure 2013 will bring great new things. Don´t forget (another Spanish tradition) to wear something red, something gold, and to enjoy a cup of cava to ensure good luck in the coming year.

We wish you a happy 2013 and welcome you to Aspasios, your apartment home in Barcelona!
