public transport in Barcelona
There are three ways to reach the city centre from the airport El Prat: by bus, by train or by taxi.
1) Aerobus (Airport Bus)
This bus runs between Barcelona airport and Plaça Catalunya, with several stops on the road. The service functions from 6:00 h (6:30 h during weekends) till 24:00 h, every 12 minutes. A trip lasts some 30 minutes and costs 3,45 € (5,90€ for a round trip).
2) Train
Trains from the company “Renfe cercanías” leave every 30 minutes, from 6:13 h till 20:43 h. In the late evening there are still four trains up till 23:40 h. The train has several stops in the city centre (linked to the underground network), among others at Plaça Catalunya, which takes 24 minutes. A one-way ticket costs 2,30 €.
3) Taxi
A trip by taxi costs some 20-25€, according to the duration of the trip and the pieces of luggage. If not at rush hours, a trip will take about 20 minutes to Plaça Catalunya.If, during your stay, you want to catch a taxi, you will find many in the street.
