shops & shopping in Barcelona
Most smaller shops close for lunch between about 14:00 and 16:30 h, to reopen until 20:00 or 20:30 h. However, shopping malls and large department stores (including El Corte Inglés, which also includes a supermarket) tend to stay open whole day, often until 21:00 or 22:00 h.
Most shops are closed on Sundays though generally speaking small shops, restaurants, bakeries, flower stalls, convenience stores and any shops in a tourist zone (like the Ramblas or Maremagnum) often function seven days a week.
Here is a list of the Opencor supermarkets. They are not the cheapest of the many Barcelonese supermarkets, but they can come in very handy, because they don't only have an extensive offer but are also open 365 days a year, from 8:00 till 2:00 h at night:
