The magnificent Barcelona Zoo, set inside the beautiful Ciudadela Park and founded in 1892, is home to more than 1500 animals of 400 different species. During the tour you will find mammals, birds and marine animals coming from different spots all over the globe.
The new facilities will accurately reproduce the natural habitat of each species, with enough space to allow animals to move freely. Besides there is a children's zoo where the little ones will have the chance to meet domestic animals, touch them, and play with them.
The dolphins' show, which is showcased several times a day, is one of the most popular activities; it is recommended to check the schedule and to arrive in time, because there are often long queues at the entrance.
Among other services, the Zoo offers a mini-train ride, electric cars, pony rides, several restaurants and one of the best playgrounds in the city.
The Barcelona Zoo opens every day at 10 h and closes at 17h in Winter and at 20h during the Summer season. Adult fee is 16,50 € and children (between 3 and 12) pay 9,90 €.
