The enormous Science Museum of Barcelona was only inaugurated in 2005 after an impressive renovation and is considered to be the best science museum in Europe. It is set in a lovely modernist building and a spectacular modern extension. It divides its 50.000 square meters into 8 thematic spaces: The Geological Wall is an exhibition to help you understand the most important geological processes happening on planet Earth. The Flooded Forest accurately reproduces the flora and fauna of an Amazonian rainforest. The Room of Matter offers a journey across the history of matter, from the Bing Bang until now, in a scientific perspective. The Science Square is a public and natural space ideal for scientific experimentation. At the Planetarium you can contemplate the immensity of the Universe and learn about the changes it went through throughout its history. The Clik and the Flash will stimulate the children's interest in science through games. In the Bubble Planetarium children from 3 to 9 will have fun and get introduced to facts about the beauty of the Sky. As its name suggests, "Toca! Toca!" (Touch! Touch!) allows children to directly touch and pick up animals and plants from different parts of the world. CosmoCaixa is open from Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays and in Summer, from 10 h to 20 h. The general fee is 3 €. It is free of charge for children under 7 and retired people. Young people from 8 to 16 years, students, large families and groups pay 2 €. Admission is free the first Sunday of every month. CosmoCaixa Barcelona |
