Plans in Barcelona from 18 to 24 April

A new week starts full of activities to enjoy in Barcelona. You will find good weather and you can  take advantage of all the fun this city offers you in which the rhythm never stops.

Sant Jordi

This year, once again Barcelona is filled with books, flowers, and happiness. It is a popular tradition in which couples exchange gifts. Men receive a book and women a rose. You can find books and roses for that special person. Walking around in Barcelona you will find the latest book releases, authors signing books and enjoy the smell of roses.

The origin of this festival is a mixture of different traditions. Sant Jordi its Catalonia´s patron  since 15th century. The legend tells about one knight that fought against a dragon to save the village of Montblanc and a Princess. Legend tells that in the same place where the Knight killed the dragon, a Rosebush grew with red roses and Sant Jordi gave one to the Princess. Red Rose symbolizes passion.
