Guzzo music, art, gastronomy and cocktails in Barcelona’s el Born

Guzzo Barcelona

Guzzo is a personal project of Fred Guzzo. Fred Guzzo is a great french DJ who was running the emblematic Café Royale Royal in Plaza Real.He has arrived to the heart of Barcelona’s Born in mid-2014 with a new concept-Guzzo.

It is a mixture of bar, restaurant, café, club and art gallery which focuses on black music in all aspects, from cool jazz to funk. Certainly, the heart and soul of the house is improvisation and resilience. It is a marvel of interiors and design with aesthetics industrial and home spirit. It is phenomenal. Moreover, international figures of urban art decorated the walls and there is a wall where each client can draw whatever they want.

The menu, simple and unpretentious, offers homemade dishes (such as classic patatas bravas) with international influences, especially oriental or French tendency. It is ideal to share and try a little of everything. They also have an extensive cocktail list with new proposals such as the fizz Guzzo, which is really delicious. If you want to try cocktails which are bearing the name of the local, often different, refreshing and own taste that is the place for you! Surprisingly, everything is fairly-priced. For instance a glass of beer is two euros, a good gin and tonic of six, the cocktail is seven euros.

The culinary and the music events are also connected to this local culture, art and creativity. Therefore, many illustrators, photographers and artists have the opportunity to make their mark on Guzzo. First was B-Toy, a renowned artist living in Barcelona whose strength is portraying subtlety and charisma of prominent figures in history. Another artist who has gone through the place has been Ernest Zacharevic, one of the most renowned urban artists at the moment nationally. The other great works in Guzzo are illustrated by American Ripo or TelmoMiel. These were the first, but there are many more to come! However,Guzzo also include initiatives such as contests illustration, photography and audiovisual working together with IDEP Barcelona and Subagora.

Guzzo combines black music (live and DJ from 6pm), urban art (exhibitions and contests), gastronomy and cocktails in a space boasting an impeccable interior design, with a vintage touch and an industrial air, which features a stunning mural on the wall where everyone can leave their mark!
