The annual open air film festival has just started in Barcelona and will continue until 8 August. If you are going to be in Barcelona at any stage over the next few weeks you won’t want to miss out!

Montjuic Castle is the home of the open air cinema which sees locals, travellers, tourists and business travellers alike all flock to the event. There are a huge number of films being shown this year both old and new.

The screenings take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 20.30. Entrance is 5 euros and additionally you can rent a deckchair for a further 3 euros. Upcoming films include Roman Polansky’s “Rosemary’s Baby”, the subversive Banksy Film “Exit Through the Gift Shop” and to mark the 50th Anniversary of her death, “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” starring Marilyn Monroe.

Enjoying the cream of world cinema in such beautiful and unique surroundings is not something to be missed.  For those prefer concerts there are multiple to choose from taking place over the same period. These include performances from a wide variety of different genres and countries.

Not only can you see what is coming up on the website but you can also vote for a Clint Eastwood film to be shown on 8th August. Visitors to the site are encouraged to leave their special vote and have the choices of Gran Torino, Invictus and Million Dollar Baby available.
