Barcelona Zoo's Macaws
There are hippos, giant anteaters, gorillas, orang-utans and so many other animals to see up close. Both kids and parents will enjoy the visit. Some notable parts of the zoo are the reptile house, the gorilla enclosure and the amazing aviary with hundreds of different species of bird. Some incredibly rare creatures can be viewed at the zoo too such as Komodo dragons.
The Palmera is another incredible part of the zoo that is well worth a visit. This is a large garden containing thirteen different aviaries. The Palmeral is home to parrots, macaws and cockatoos and as you wander around the garden you can watch the birds closely and hear them too. The lush green vegetation in the Palmera adds to the whole unique experience. The zoo is open all year round and tickets are reasonably priced. It makes for a fantastic day out and is a real treat for the whole family.
As well as checking out the zoo you might like to enjoy one of the many art galleries, museums, theatres, attractions that are on offer in Barcelona. There is a great deal to enjoy in this vibrant Spanish city so make sure you have time to experience it all. You must also leave some time for enjoying a plate or two of tapas and a trip to Barcelona would not be complete without experiencing the booming café culture.
