There is an exciting event coming soon to Madrid and if you are to be visiting this part of the world during January or February then you won’t want to miss it. The Contemporary Scene is a an alternative festival of scenery arts. It is the place to view alternative arts, music, theatre and a wide range of other types of performance too.

Anyone interested in the arts or anyone who enjoys theatre and music will particularly appreciate this festival. Being alternative by nature you won’t see anything here that you have seen before either. The festival is running from 25th January to 18th February in venues across the city. This year will be its twelfth run and it is certainly growing in popularity all the time.

There are a wide selection of visual and performing arts included in the festival so it is well worth checking out. Some events are free during the festival whilst others are paid ticket only. If you are going to be visiting Madrid in the next couple of months be sure to take in one or two events from The Contemporary Scene and you won’t regret it.

The Barcelona Half Marathon 2012

Anyone feeling like they are up for a challenge or wanting to shift a bit of Christmas weight gain may be interested in the upcoming Barcelona half marathon. It will be taking place on 26th February at 8.45 in the morning. It will be all finished by 11.30. The route is just over 20km and takes the runners all over the stunning city of Barcelona bringing them back to the same place they started.

The race is a hugely popular one and both amateur and professional runners join in. It’s a fantastic challenge and a great way to get in shape. Get registered as soon as possible to secure your place at the 2012 Barcelona half marathon.

Anyone staying in Barcelona over the weekend of 26th February should make sure they turn out to watch some of the event. It is quite a spectacle and great fun for all the family. Last year thousands of people took part and this year expects to see the same high turn out. The Barcelona half marathon is one of the most popular running events in Europe and takes place every year. Don’t miss out – regardless of whether you are a runner or a spectator!
