Must-See Summer Event in Madrid-“Veranos de la Villa”

Madrid is one of the liveliest capital cities in Europe. It is well known as a centre for festivals and events that last continuously throughout the year. The summer in particular is a fantastic time for festivals in Madrid. One of the most popular events is the “Veranos de la Villa” that takes place at multiple venues throughout the city during July and August. The best way to enjoy this even is in extended stay hotels or short term rentals. You can enjoy the whole event at a fraction of the cost of staying in a regular hotel.

The main stage of the event can be found at the Centro Cultural Conde Duque and each year it attracts some of the top international names in music, theatre and dance. Top flamenco artists perform here at do famous Brazilian singers such as Milton Nascimento, Caetano Veloso and Carlinhos Brown. The Cape Verdean singer Cesaria Évora has also performed here as well as some popular Cuban rockers including Ibrahim Ferrer.

It is not just music however that this particular festival is known for. Various venues across the city also offer plenty of alternative theatre and for those who enjoy outdoor cinema, there is a two screen cinema placed in the Parque de la Bombilla where an array of films are shown. Kids are also treated well with an incredible puppet show performed each year in the Sabatini Gardens next to the Royal Palace.

There is no doubt that with so much to see and do in Madrid staying in rentals housing of some kind or an extended stay hotel is a good idea.
