The latest Cirque du Soleil production, “Zarkana” has arrived in Madrid. François Girard is the writer and director of this show which received rave reviews when it premiered in New York earlier on in the year. This is not the first time that this director has worked with Cirque du Soleil who was also behind “ZED”, an ongoing show that runs in Tokyo. He has directed a large number of plays and films including “Silk” and “The Red Volin”.
Cirque du Soleil Comes to Madrid
Music plays a huge role in this latest production as well as a good heap of fantasy too. The story is centred around a magician named Zark who has lost both his true love and also his powers. Zarkana is the imaginary world in which he lives and the plot follows the magician as he seeks to recover all that he has lost. During his search he encounters a whole heap of colourful and exciting characters and the production is nothing short of spectacular. There are 71 artists who perform in this show from all across the world.
Zarkana is another in a long line of spectacular shows from the Canadian entertainment company, Cirque du Soleil. It has been designed for the largest venues around the world and consequently is being performed at the Madrid Arena. The show began on 12th November and will continue to run until 31st December.
