The tramway of Barcelona (TRAM) is a modern means of transportation that guarantees safety, punctuality and speed, while being the most ecological of all the transportation choices.
The tramway network has two lines (Trambaix y Trambesós) functioning within the city as well as connecting to nearby metropolitan areas.
Trambaix (T1, T2 and T3): connects the southern area of Barcelona with L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Esplugues de Llobregat, Cornella de Llobregat, Sant Just Desvern, Sant Joan Despi and Sant Feliu de Llobregat.
Trambesós (T4 and T5): connects the northern part of Barcelona with the cities of Sant Adrià de Besòs and Badalona.
As the TRAM is part of the integrated transportation network of the metropolitan area of Barcelona, it is advisable to buy a T-10 for 8,25€ card and use it to combine it with the underground, local trains and buses. The simple ticket fee is 1,45 €.
From Monday to Thursday, on Sundays and public holidays the tramway functions from 5h to 24h. On Friday, Saturday and the day before a public holiday, it is open from 5h to 2h.
On the other hand, you can also take the Blue Streetcar “Tramvia Blau”, that nowadays performs rather a tourist task. It runs from Plaza de John Kennedy uphill to Plaza del Doctor Andreu, where you can get the cable car to the top of Tibidabo. A one way fare is 2,90 € and a round trip fare costs 4,50 €. From 2nd of January to 3rd of April: from 10h to 18h, Saturday, Sunday and hollyday
From 4th of abril to 13th of April: from 10h a 18h, daily
From 14th of April to 8th of May: from 10h to 18h, Saturday, Sunday and hollyday
From 9th of May to 19th of June: from 10h to 20h, Saturday, Sunday and hollyday
From 20th of June to 13th of September: from 10h to 20h, daily
From 14th of September to 30th of September: from 10h to 20h, Saturday, Sunday and hollyday
From 1st of octubre to 31th of December: from 10h to 18h, Saturday, Sunday and hollyday
7th of December: open from 10h to 18h
